N9MXQ-15 is back up to 65 watts, is doing the internet gate thing, has the web server running at http://n9mxq-15.ham-radio-op.net and can be used as a server for APRS Programs at http://n9mxq-15.ham-radio-op.net:1448 (edited)
I left it behind the back burner while work stabilized, but now it's up and firing on all 8 cylinders.
As usual, if anyone sees anything amiss, please let me know. Signed Gene Young N9MXQ

Hi Gene,
Great on being back up and running... I have a question on your port selection of 14580 though, maybe leading people to beleive that you have something to do with the Tier2 Filtered Server network,
I don't think that is what you're saying though, but maybe you are? I went with port 1452 myself, and I can't find the default port, but I think it was 80, and that may be an issue on some setups..
What I also did, is my server is setup so that only what I see RF wise and the wx stuff gets served up to anyone connecting to my server.. I tell them if you want to see what I see in my area, have a go at http://wa9inf.shacknet.nu:1452
I will try yours out shortly Gene, and thanks again for the APRS service you are providing! 73

Robbie, default port in UI-View server is 1448 (shortcut from 144.800).
I've checked connection
- host address: wa9inf.shacknet.nu
- port: 1448
And it works.
73!

Ya! A lot of times I use that port from other computers on the LAN here.. Sneaky way of multiple UI-View32 scenes running at once, not necessarily using the same computer,
Use it anytime you like to compare what we see out here and what you see...

I too use UIView. So I musta braincramped the port. Switch to 1448 and all should be right with the world..
Sorry, I haven't told many people, and was going on (poor) memory. Signed Gene Young N9MXQ

You can also see the data from my UI-view on the http://www.aprs.pl/chicago.htm page. Monitor works under javAPRS with Expedia zoomable maps.
Or directly connect to my data from UI-view:
ab9fx.selfip.net:1448 (beside of RF data there is also data from the server)
Another option is using my AGW Packet Engine, i.e. be on my TNC and on my antenna - fully rx/tx. Connect with your program to AGWPE:
- Host machine: ab9fx.selfip.net
- Port: 8000
Now, is opened without login/password. |

Well, sorry to hear that Gene. I seldom ever get up your way, but I have followed several friends of mine that did benefit from N9MXQ-15. Thanks for all your efforts and just will say that I believe it served the "network" with a "Well Done" sir...

May be hope for it yet.. Seems the reasons it was evicted was 1. the computer and 2. RFI..
So if I can pony up a standalone TNC digi, and use a little less power (50 instead of 65 watts) I might be able to ressurect it. Signed Gene Young N9MXQ

An extended loan of a never-used MFJ 1270 can be arranged for, if you can secure an APRS digipeater EPROM for it. Still in the box; was going to use it on VNV-15 before I lost the site. |
