I was just alerted that the tower that N9MXQ-15 is on has failed a safety inspection and will be dismantled.
My home station will still act as a fill in WIDE1-1 digi and I will be looking for a new home for N9MXQ-15. Signed Gene Young N9MXQ

You're having the same sort of luck I was having with towers, Gene!
At least I got parts of the last tower my digi was on...
Then again, other parts of that same tower failed in a rather atypical wind storm a year or so ago... Signed Jeff Brenton KA9VNV

Havent been out to the site since I picked up my equipment, but I was told it was to be down this week..
Whether they did it neat, or just cut the guys and pushed.. I didn't want my stuff possibly laying at the bottom of the rubble pile.. Signed Gene Young N9MXQ

KB9I told me about the take-down of a 300' tower over in McHenry when it was going to be replaced with a 400'. The owner of the gravel pit had arranged with a group out of Rockford to take the old one down and haul it away for a set price.
When they arrived, they told the owner the tower was in such poor condition that they would need to charge more for taking it down. The owner replied to their "revised bid" by taking bolt cutters and cutting the guy wires, while the tower crew watched in horror...
They had planned on using the sections to build a tower in Rockford, but thought they could get more money out of the take-down. They were wrong. Signed Jeff Brenton KA9VNV

N9MXQ-15 is back in service, and will be showing it's old location for a while.
A new chip is enroute and will be installed as soon as I get it..
-15 is, and will be operating from my former location north of Belvidere. Signed Gene Young N9MXQ
