|
|
|
I recently passed my Technician's exam and purchased a Yaetsu VX-8R handheld. So far I've had fun listening in on some stations as well as trying to get APRS working. The handheld is showing the GPS location and I can see some other stations broadcasting beacons. However when trying to send my location I can see the HT transmitting the beacon, however it doesn't show up on any of the online APRS tracking sites...
I guess that it's not making it to a digipeater?? I have no clue what's up. How can I troubleshoot this?
Also - the digipath settings preprogrammed in the handheld are WIDE1-1 and WIDE2-2 should either of these work?
Thanks! |

I guess there isn't much activity on this board.
Regardless - I got it working. Must just have been some goofy settings because I reset the radio and set everything back up and it is working now.

If you're mobile, try wide1-1,wide2-2
That should get you just about anywhere.. If there is a digipeater near you.. What area are you in?
And no, this isn't a high traffic board.. But the knowledge contained herein (myself excluded) is worth the wait. Most of us have been packeteers for years.. And APRS just about as long. Signed Gene Young N9MXQ
