Somewhere within range of my mobile that travels between Winnetka and Northfield each week day, there is a digipeater that sends a dead carrier whenever it transmits. I have confirmed that it is not NS9RC or N9IJ-10. I heard it when I was testing the "smart beacon" behavior of my tracker on Tuesday afternoon. The digi's dead carrier seems to be fairly strong in the area so it can't be very far away and it often transmits right on top of the other signals on the channel.

If you operate a digi in this area, make sure it's not transmitting a dead carrier when it fires up.
