New firmware of TNC Kantronics KPC-3 Plus - version 9.0 gives new commands. What is good for APRS is UIDUPE - Timer for UI duplicate checking (0-255 seconds). But it doesn't work, even timers for UIFLOOD and UITRACE don't.
Do you have any idea why and how to fix it?

I have no experience with v9 (hadn't heard about it until now!), but I'd guess that UIDUPE delibrately doesn't work against the UIFLOOD and UITRACE packets, since those already have timers.

Before deciding whether or not it doesn't work, we'll need to find out how it's supposed to work... Wink

(unfortunately, I don't see UIDUPE in the online manual, and there doesn't seem to be a v9 suppliment posted)

UIDUPE is the timer just for UIDIGI call signs/aliases digipeating not the UIFLOOD nor UITRACE

There is also another command UISSID. Only way to know what is about, is using HELP command at terminal. Manual is not updated.
cmd:? UIDUPE
UIDUPE Timer for UI duplicate checking (0-255 seconds)
cmd:? UISSID
UISSID If on, UI frames use SSID routing

After long way of searching I've got answer. There was bug in KPC3+ 9.0
Duplicate checking didn't work at all. Even in UIFLOOD and UITRACE, not only in UIDUPE (for calls in UIDIGI).
Last week I was one in the testing group for fixed 9.0
What I've got from Kantronics is amazed. When I put EPROM with fixed 9.0, duplicate checking works as should. There is no difference packet was repeated before because of call in UIDIGI or in UIFLOOD, or in UITRACE, if time didn't passed dupe packet is ignored.

No, I couldn't find it also. Looks they work on their web site. Fortunately, manual for 9.0 is updated. New command UIDUPE is described (UISSID is removed in new 9.0).
